Online Teaching Standard 2

Knowledge of Human Development & Learning

Artifact(s):  Blended Learning / MIT Contest

OVERVIEW:  As a full-time teacher for Cambridge Jr/Sr High School, I teach Business, Economics, and Social Studies.  This past year, taking advantage of my BrainHoney experience with IDLA, I created my first blended Economics course where at least 51% of the instruction was delivered online. In the blended format, I am free to include multiple mediums such as in-class videos, online interactive resources such as Hands On Banking, and hard copy textbooks with handouts delivered online for easier grading and access from home for my students.

As an EdTech student at Boise State University, my Mobile App Design instructor encouraged me to enter my final project in the 2012 MIT App Inventor Contest.   I was recognized as a 2nd place winner for my Learn by the State-Idaho app.
